Biography I have been studying and practicing Healing arts for 30 years.
My own journey into Healing started as a teenager, when using diet modification
I healed myself of chronic allergies and a sinus condition that had plagued
me all my childhood. This began a journey of learning, self-Healing and discovery
that has taken me through Europe to
I practiced his many breathing and meditation techniques and got enormous benefit. I studied with the Taoist healer San Gee Tam for seven years. From him I learned many
mental techniques of Healing and the Taoist arts of Tai Chi and Qigong
(also known as Chi Kung, traditional Asian breathing and movement exercises
to develop well-being and energy). With a few years of daily practice I
developed a level of health and vitality that I had never known before.
(I continue to practice Qigong every day). Over the years I went on to study various Qigong
and Tai Chi systems and healing methods from
www.goldenflower.org I became certified in polarity therapy, chua K’a massage (Mongolian Warrior massage), postural integration (an offshoot of Rolfing), Swedish massage, pranic Healing, craniosacral therapy, and Tibetan organ toning which is now known as Tibetan Pulse Yoga. My teacher Shantam Dhiraj ( see www.tibetan-pulsing.de) was the originator of this system and a friend of my teacher Sangeetam. I practiced bodywork professionally. At this time I began studying homeopathy and continued studying clinical nutrition. Over the years I continued to study homeopathy and nutritional supplementation. \ In 1985 I moved to
After having lived in the China and Japan for three years I entered the Graduate program in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz. I now teach at Five Branches. During this time I worked professionally as a massage therapist. I became a board certified acupuncturist and then apprenticed for two years with a senior practitioner, Holly Guzman. I completed a
masters program in Medical Qigong with Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson. I then taught medical Qigong and supervised the medical Qigong clinic through the international institute of Medical Qigong. For information about Jerry please see: Throughout this time I practiced periodic fasts, therapeutic diets and juice fasts. This has kept me healthy and deepened my knowledge of these healing modalities. I do not consider myself a master of these fasting and detoxification protocols, but I know enough to help myself and other people. At the beginning of my relationship with my wife Anetthea Atman (Ph.d candidate in depth psychology) she guided both of us to work with the Indian saint Mata Amritanandamayi Ma, commonly known as Amma. We still spend as much time as we can with her when she is in America. I consider her to be my spiritual Mother. Her web-site is: About seven years ago I started to study Shamanism with Phil 'bright Eagle' and Daryl Lowery. They guided me to a number of Brazilian and cross-cultural healers and mentors. Specifically Padrinho Alex Polari de Alverga and Madrina Luzia and Madrina Clara, all of the Santo Daime tradition, who are a source of study and inspiration for me. I consider Padrinho Sebastiao Mela de Mota to be my spiritual Father, though he is no longer in his body, and I never met him physically, but he is very present in the Santo Daime church. see: I have also benefitted greatly from the meditation retreats and blessings of Mark Griffin. Information about his spiritual teaching work can be accessed at: Out of this Shamanic work emerged a period of intensive inspiration wherein I received a revelation of the fundamental energies which form a human being from conception onwards. For three and a half years I wrote down a description of how humans are formed from the moment of conception; how we are formed by the underlying forces of the five-fold nature of the universe, and how these forces give rise to the various layers of the energy system, generating the three Dan-Tian, the four bodies, the four primary modifications of consciousness, the five Zang organs, the five primary emotions, the seven chakras, the eight extraordinary channels, and finally the 12 regular acupuncture channels.
